  • Please Note: The Public Safety Classroom is not available for reservation on Wednseday's from 8-5pm. Additionally, reservations may not be made for from October 1, 2024 through November 5, 2024.

    ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE 14 DAYS PRIOR TO EVENT!

    We ask that groups not advertise until they receive a confirmation email. It may take up to 5 business days before receiving a confirmation receipt. Please submit your request at least 14 days before your event but no greater than 30 days. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation at any time due to Public Safety needs.

    USE OF PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITIES:

    The Scarborough Public Safety Team retains the right at all times to make individual decisions regarding the use of the Public Safety Building.

    Public Safety Facilities will generally be made available in keeping with the following:

    • GUIDELINES FOR PRIORITY USE OF FACILITIES 
    • Priority 1: The use of Public Safety facilities for public safety activities will at all times take precedence over any community use of the facilities.

      Priority 2: Town of Scarborough Municipal Groups

      Priority 2: Public Safety facilities may be made available to organizations or citizens of the Town of Scarborough for civic, educational, recreational, or other activities, which, in the opinion of the Public Safety Team, do not interfere with the conduct of public safety or the best interests of the Public Safety Team. All events must end by 10:00 pm.

      These are guidelines and the Public Safety Administration has the right to deviate as needed.

    • PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES 
    • A. No Public Safety facility will be made available to any group or individual for private or corporate gain, nor will any facility, be used for a commercial venture.

      B. No Public Safety facility will be made available to any group that advocates unconstitutional or illegal acts.

      C. No Public Safety facility will be made available for any purpose that may, in the opinion of the Public Safety Team, present a risk of damage to any public safety facility, grounds or equipment.

      D. The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, illegal drugs or weapons within any building or on public safety grounds is prohibited.

      E. Animals will be allowed in the Public Safety facility only with prior approval and at the discretion of the Public Safety Team. (Exceptions will be granted for service animals.)

    • APPLICATION FOR USE OF FACILITIES 
      1. Applications to the Public Safety Team must be made through this google form and received at least 14 days in advance of the expected use.
      2. No application for use of space in the Public Safety facility will be approved more than one month in advance and no more than twice in a month. Monthly use will also not be approved.
      3. The Public Safety Team reserves the right to revoke any agreement made for the use of the Public Safety Facility, at any time and without prior notice or liability.
      4. Use of this google form is required.

      CONDITIONS OF USE:

      1. All events must end by 10:00 pm.
      2. It is the responsibility of the persons or organizations using the Public Safety facilities to leave them in the same condition in which they were received. If this is not done to the satisfaction of the Public Safety Team, a charge will be levied for any required clean-up/repair costs.
      3. All individuals or groups using the Public Safety facilities are responsible for the preservation of order during all activities and are required to comply with all applicable statutes, ordinances, and regulations put forth by the Town of Scarborough. If security is deemed to be necessary, arrangement and payment for police services will be the responsibility of the individual or group in question.
      4. All groups or individuals using Public Safety facilities will be responsible for any loss or damage to facilities or equipment, and proof of liability insurance or adequate financial resources to meet this requirement may be required as a condition of approval.
    • INDEMNIFICATION 
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Groups or Individuals will indemnify and hold harmless the Public Safety Team and the Town of Scarborough, its officers, and employees, from and against all claims, damages, losses, and expenses, just or unjust, including but not limited to costs of defense, including attorney's fees, arising out of or resulting from the performance of this Agreement, provided that any such claims, damage, loss or expense (1) is attributable to bodily injury, sickness, disease, or death, or injury to or destruction of tangible property, including the loss or use thereof, and (2) is caused in whole or in part by any negligent act or omission of the group or individual, anyone directly or indirectly employed by it, or anyone for whose act it may be liable, except to the extent that it is caused by the Public Safety Team, its officers, or employees.

    • TERMINATION 
    • The Public Safety Team, for good cause, may withdraw his/her approval for the use of the Public Safety facilities, with prior notice to the group or individual with 48 hours notice, unless it is a Public Safety emergency which can be done at any time.

    • TERMINATION BY GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL 
    • Group or Individual may withdraw the request for facilities use any date prior to the date scheduled by use by contacting the Public Safety Team psclassroomreservation@scarboroughmaine.org
