  • Applicant must have culvert installation Inspected & approved by the Public Works Department prior to receiving an occupancy permit. A 72-hour notice is required for Public Works Department inspections. Please Note: An Excavating License & Permit Is required for digging in any Town "Right of Way".

    When submitting a "Building Permit Coordination Form, please provide the Public Works Department with the following:

    • A map or subdivision plan indicating street and street number.
    • Where. on the lot, the house and/or garage will be located.
    • Stake on the actual lot indicating the lot number.
    • Stakes or markings on the actual lot which indicates where the driveway intersects with the street.

    Town of Scarborough ROAD POSTING POLICY

    It is the policy of the Town of Scarborough to post roads with weight restrictions during the Spring thaw. These weight restrictions preclude heavy trucks (gravel trucks. concrete trucks, lumber trucks, etc.) from using any and all posted roads. Roads are posted from March through May. A complete list of roads may be seen on the Public Works website each Spring.

    Please remember to schedule your Spring construction accordingly.
