    If you are interested in participating as an Election Worker for the November 2026 election, please complete the following application form.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY CHANGES IN THIS SELECTION WILL NEED TO MADE 45 DAYS PRIOR TO ANY ELECTION AND WILL REQUIRE TOWN CLERK APPROVAL.

  • Absentee Voting

    Absentee Voting (early voting) takes place for 30 days prior to every election. Duties include using the State Election Software Program, issuing ballots in person and by mail, logging returned ballots, early voting at local nursing homes with Clerk staff, and early processing of absentee ballots (1-2 days, if needed). The commitment is a minimum of a 5 hour shift, 2 day per week for the 30 days prior to the election.

  • Election Day

    Election Day Duties are as follows:
  • Check-in: two person, bipartisan team to record and provide residents with the correct ballots.

    Voter Registration: registering new Scarborough voters or assisting residents with updating their voter registration due to name, address or party changes.

    Ballot Machines: assisting residents with casting their ballot and assisting the warden with emptying machines when needed or if there are any machines errors.

    Absentee Ballot Processing: two person, bipartisan team to process all incoming absentee ballots.

    Absentee returns: logging returned absentee ballots in the State Election Software Program so the ballots can be processed

    Float: assisting the Town Clerk, Deputy Town Clerk, and Warden(s) with tasks and cover all duties for breaks or during other needed times.

  • Pursuant to State Law, if your name or the name of a family member appears on the ballot as a candidate, you may not work at the polls.
